A programme of works aimed at upgrading the infrastructure in the Municipality of Lassithi have been signed by the Mayor of Agios Nikolaos Mr. A. Zervos and the head of the Local Government Region of Crete Mr. S. Arnaoutakis during a meeting on 17/11/16.
Inan effort to increase the concept of sports tourism in the area, and as a general upgrade for local residents, the programme is for a total of 487,500 euros and will include the laying of artificial turf on the football stadium at Ammouda (cost 247,500).
The football stadium in Sisi, already promised to the people of Sisi, Milatos and Vrahasi, will be built on a site of 8,5 acres which has already been purchased for that purpose and a technical report will be submitted within 2017 with the final details of the construction.
Other issues were discussed during the meeting between the two parties, both for interventions already programmed and for future plans in the pipeline.
