Fatal stabbing in Heraklion

Friday night was a bloody one in Heraklion following the fatal stabbing of a man by a neighbour.
The incident occurred around midnight, according to a report by neakriti.gr, when based on the details available, a 35 year old man became involved in a serious verbal dispute with a 26 year old woman. The female neighbour attacked the man with a sharp instrument causing him to collapse in a pool of blood as a result of the stab wounds he received, most of which were to the chest.
An ambulance was called and the crew quickly transferred the injured man to the University Hospital, in Heraklion, but despite determined efforts by the staff in the Emergency department to resuscitate the victim and treat his injuries, it was not possible to save the man’s life.
The woman responsible for the attack is a known drug addict and was arrested by the police, charged with the alleged crime, whilst an autopsy will shed light on the exact cause of death of the 35 year old, who was an Albanian national and the father of two children.
