A few days ago, fonien.gr reported on a group of young people who had used the bikes available to the public in the marina and taken them on a joy ride to Elounda and into the sea, posting photographs on a social media page.
The same young people were identified and came forward voluntarily to the council office responsible for the bike rentals (DAEAN). They were extremely apologetic for their actions and set to offering to wash down all the bikes, help in the maintenance and to being available to help in any way in the future if volunteers are needed.
Speaking to fonien.gr they explained that it was really a very stupid thing that they had done in a moment of madness and felt responsibe that the entire youth of Agios Nikolaos should be seen in such a negative light because of their recklessness.
They apologise and promise to make amends.
