Motorcyclist killed in yet another accident on roads of Crete

A young man of approximately 30 years of age died this morning, in the University Hospital, Heraklion, as a result of injuries he sustained in a road traffic accident.

According to information, the man was found at 7am this morning, lying unconscious in the slip road, near to a large hotel, in Stalis.

An ambulance was called immediately, which arrived within eight minutes from Hersonissos and after assessing the man’s condition and judging it to be critical, the EKAB team transferred him to Heraklion.

In the meantime, a doctor was alerted and who set out from Heraklion to meet the ambulance en route. Once aboard, efforts began to keep the 30 year old alive.

Arriving at the University Hospital it is believed that he was still alive, but tragically, succumbed to his injuries soon afterwards, plunging the man’s family and friends into mourning.

It is still completely unknown as to how the 30 year old motorcyclist came off his bike and was thrown into the side of the road. His motorbike was found a few metres away from where he lay unconscious.
