Circular hike Kritsa Gorge-Kera-Kritsa

On Sunday 4th June, the Agios Nikolaos Mountaineering Association is organising a circular hike in the area around Kritsa – a parallel event, alongside the main event of the day, which is the “Pan-Hellenic Mountain Road Championship”.
This particular athletics event is taking place for the second time in it’s history in Crete, the first time being in 1983. The organisers of the event are the Cultural and Athletics Association of the Council of Agios Nikolaos, with the support of the national athletics body, SEGAS.
Those taking part, which includes leading athletes from all over Greece, who have already declared their participation, will run either the full 16 kilometres, or the shorter distance of 8 kilometres.
Any members of our Association who wish to take part, can still sign up as as individual competitors, but are asked to do so as quickly as possible. More information is available on the 2841089513.
For the members of Mountaineering Association who will not compete, the circular hike in the area will cover the 8 kilometre course, starting from the centre of Kritsa, immediately after the athletes set off, which is scheduled for 09:00. We will cross the Kritsa gorge until the first exit and from the old path, we will head towards the chapel of Panagia Kera. Using a mud path, we will return to the starting point. The duration is forecast to be three hours.
Departure from the car park of the AB Vassilopoulos Supermarket at 08:15 on Sunday morning. For further information, please contact: 6944782507 or 6946160654
