UK police back in Malia for Steven Cook investigation

UK police have returned to Malia in their continued investigation, in cooperation with the local authorities, into the case of the death of Steven Cook, whose remains were found in a well, in February. They aim to close the case as quickly as possible, but have still not reached a final conclusion in terms of the cause of death and are reported, to continue to be considering all options, including the possibility of wrongful death.

The area around the pumping station and the well itself, where the skeleton was discovered by a team of workers employed to clean it, has been totally covered and closed off by the officers and their forensic teams, who are working to find additional evidence that could throw light on the case.

Steven’s family has also requested that any other bones and personal belongings, that may be still inside the well, should be retrieved and included with the rest of the remains, when they are eventually repatriated.
