Ramps need to be constructed immediately on seafront road

It’s not the first time and will most certainly not be the last, where visitors to our shores, including those who arrive on cruise ships as in this case, have mobility difficulties, but get around easily and independently, with the help of some kind of wheelchair.
In Agios Nikolaos, visitors who have a limited amount of time available to explore the town, very often choose the seafront road towards Ammoudi, as an ideal route for their stroll around – it is ideal, as it is both flat and scenic.
These people however, are forced to use the road, instead of these safety of the pavement along the promenade for their explorations, which means being in the path of buses, cars, lorries, motorcycles, causing disruption to traffic, but most importantly, risking their lives, in their effort to take in and enjoy their visit to Agios Nikolaos.

The consultant for cruise ship tourism of the Municipal Port Fund, of Agios Nikolaos, Mr. Giannis Bras, has recently stated his intention to construct ramps along the length of the seafront zone and we ask if this is still an issue on the agenda for the local authorities, and if so, when it will happen.
Footnote: The ramps will also of course be a tremendous help to local people who use wheelchairs, as well as mothers with babies and children in pushchairs, who would also like to be able to enjoy the walk along the same stretch of road, more comfortably, and without endangering their lives in the process.
