In the aftermath of the arrival of the first cruise ship into the town of Agios Nikolaos, there is a picture that nobody should feel proud of.
Outside the rubbish bins which have recently been placed in the harbour, the scene was not which it should have been, with the businesses in the vicinity leaving rubbish outside and around the bins, not caring, not being aware of the arrival of the cruise ship, or possibly because that’s what they would still have done anyway.
We are talking about rubbish, from the businesses of the town, where the passengers from the ship, and not only, would sit and drink their coffee, on that same day.
Certainly it is not rubbish from all of the businesses, but amongst themselves, they have to find a solution to the cleanliness of the area, whilst we are still in the beginning of the season and similar scenes don’t damage the image of town trying to stay clean.
