Huge whale dolphin caught off Kissamos

A fisherman from Kissamos, Chania, Michalis Gonalakis, found a very unusual “catch” in his net yesterday, whilst out at sea on his boat of the coast of Kissamos.

A very rare breed of mammal, according to those who know about the species – an exceptionally large whale dolphin had become tangled up and could not get away.

After quite a long and difficult struggle, due to the size of the mammal, he managed to release it back into the sea, a decision which is an example to us all.
