It was with great pleasure that we read yesterday on the page, Sitia on line, that progress seems to be being made, in the very urgent issue for locals and visitors alike, of the outstanding repairs, to the coastal road in Sitia.
According to a report from Style 100, the Region for Crete has finally decided to choose the route of “limited tenders”, for the intervention and repair of the road. The budget for the work is 140,000 euros, which will cover the reconstruction of the roadside and pavement, with the addition of safety barriers and railings.
It is estimated that the contractor will have been selected and the repairs and reconstruction work will begin on the road, during May, this year.
