In the most tragic way, a 47 year old man lost his life in the early hours of this morning, 26th December, when he was hit by a car as he walked along the road.
The driver of the vehicle, it appears, did not stop to help and the man died without help, alone at the side of the road.
According to reports, the victim was found this morning on the main road between Heraklion and Agia Galini, by a passing driver, who informed the Police.
The first signs from the scene, point to a hit and run accident involving the 47 year old man and an unknown car and driver. Investigations are underway to find the driver responsible.
