High occupancies for Christmas and the New Year are being reported by the countryside guesthouses in Crete, that have remained open during the period.
Traffic via airports and harbours is is also high.
Many people are preparing for journeys abroad, but reservations are good for the rural guest houses in Crete, with many, for the days of the holidays, already being fully booked.
Travel agents, owners and management of hotels and guests houses in traditional winter destinations on Crete, are all experiencing good demand, with the city hotels being busier in terms of reservations for their special celebration party evenings on 24th and 31st December.
Ferry boats are busy and and traffic through Heraklion airport is expected to reach the figure of between 7,500 and 9,000 passengers.
