UK insight into refugee crisis in Greece

With the arrival of the first 700, of the estimated 2,100 refugees who are planned to be temporarily rehoused on Crete, an article in the Telegraph newspaper this week, gives a very clear analysis of the refugee crisis and it’s affects on Greece and in particular the Islands of the Eastern Aegean, from the beginning and until today.

It also highlights that despite the huge numbers of refugees being handled on the smaller Islands, The Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK says quite specifically, that there is absolutely no reason for visitors to fear for their safety should they chose to visit there themselves. I would add, that if you can, those Islands could do with your support,

For anyone who hasn’t seen the numbers, it puts into perspective the overall figures in comparison to the numbers of people who will be coming to Crete. Well worth a look!
