Victim of new accident identified

The body of the man found fatally injured on the road between Heraklion and Moires has been identified as 53 year old, Mixalis Psyxakis, originally from Corfu and married in Agia Varvara.

It appears that he had been driving his own car and had run out of petrol, when he decided to walk to the nearest petrol station to buy fuel. The unfortunate outcome was that he was first hit by one vehicle and then two more ran over him whist he lay in the road, causing overwhelming head injuries.

The drivers of the three vehicles involved have been located and are being held and questioned by the Police.
