The villagers of Vatolakkos, in Chania are in shock this morning, with the news of the death of a 55 year old local woman.
The woman was discovered around 3am in the garden of her house and an ambulance was called straight away, however, it was already too late for the woman, who was declared dead at the scene.
According to information, it is believed that the unlucky 55 year old had fallen from the roof terrace of her house, but as yet, unknown how.
An autopsy will be held, which is hoped will help clarify the events that led to her death.
