Just a normal shift today for two local police officers, despite the fact that it is a major holiday for most of us………the two men began their shift in Heraklion, but had no idea what they would find themselves having to deal with during the course of their day.
During their routine patrols, the two officers, Manolis Merkoulidis and Kostis Syskakis came across a frightened and apparently lost German shepherd dog, wandering around in Kokkini Hani and in fear of it becoming involved in an accident on the road, thought nothing of picking it up and putting into their patrol car.
The aim of the two men is to find the owner of the dog and return it, but if that doesn’t happen, they have already said that they will adopt it, as a new member of the police team!
