Steven Cook case under microscope of Scotland Yard

The officers from the Scotland Yard team investigating the Steven Cook case, were at the Court Buildings of Heraklion today 9/3/17, in a meeting with the coroner, the prosecutor and the Police Chief of the Hersonissos Division, in a joint effort to verify the cause of death.

As has already been reported by the news site cretapost, both the Greek authorities and the officers of Scotland Yard, are examining all the details surrounding the death of the British student, under a microscope. He went missing on the first day of his holidays in September 2005 and his remains were found in a well in Malia last month.

In a statement by one British officer to the press, he emphasised that the team from Scotland Yard are here to give support to the Cook family and all together, to find out exactly what happened that day.

The British Police did a new autopsy of the site where Steven’s remains were found and then had a long and detailed meeting with the officers on Crete, discussing all the findings.

The information available at this time to cretapost, suggests that all possibilities remain open in regard to the cause of death, with the authorities considering that of an accident, as well as a criminal act.

Results from the coroner’s report and other tests which have already been ordered to be done on Steven’s bones, will help to clarify the picture, but the procedure will take time.
