Skate board park plans move forward

With fast track rhythm, plans for a long promised skate board park are now in the pipeline.
The first plans were delivered to the Mayor by the Architect Mr. St. Diakakis.
Mr Zervos has already agreed with an initiative group for the project that once all the necessary plans and studies have been submitted to the Council in early 2017, and allowing for the costs and budget for the park, he will quickly move to put the contract of construction out to tenders.
The Mayor, speaking on the subject said, “we are very pleased that finally, a permanent place is being created for this purpose” and highlighted that “it would become a meeting place for more and more athletes that follow the ever growing in popularity sport. It is highly sociable, creative and fun and is also a great method of aerobic exercise”.
The site chosen is in the area of Ammouda and is not heavily residential so any potential noise pollution will be limited. The road which leads to the site is very good, giving easy access to the users and a covered stand will provide seating with the plan to arranging competitions and bringing in visitors to follow events.
