Shooting outside club in Heraklion

The residents in the centre of Heraklion were woken by gunshots, early yesterday morning.

According to information, it all started at 6.30 in the morning when assailants travelling in a car stopped outside the club, on Papandreou Avenue, pulled out a weapon and opened fire. Their target was a car parked outside the club and the club itself, which was open and still had customers inside.

According to witnesses, the shooting created uproar in the area, with residents coming out of their homes and customers of the club, leaving in a state of fear.

The Police was notified straight away and arrived without delay, but the assailants had already disappeared.

The good news is that there were no injuries, as it appears that their main target was the car.
