This is not a good start!

This morning, our in-box contained some unacceptable and really very dispiriting photographs.
The photographs were taken by a reader (J.T.), who visited Ammoudara Beach yesterday and was so infuriated by what she saw, that she wanted to share her experience with us.

Seeing the condition of the public toilets on beach yesterday, I wonder what the tourists who turned away in disgust, must have been thinking of the services provided on our beautiful and quite rightly, well advertised Blue Flag Beaches.
The local lady, who sent us the photographs pointed out quite understandably, that she is not always in a position to use the part of the beach, where you have the option to use of the toilets across the road, which belong to the tavernas. To enjoy this privilege in theory, means also spending money on drinks or food from those outlets.
However, is it fair or correct to assume that tourists don’t also use these facilities? I know for a fact that they do (at least on occasion), because like most of you, and like our reader who sent us the photographs, we have seen them with our own eyes.
We are publicising these pictures and would like to be able to post the reply from the Council. We would like to see an immediate response in order to resolve the problem and to avoid any further negative publicity, that this situation surely creates.
And such diabolical organisation on a local level, in a year which we are constantly being told, will see arrivals breaking all previous records!
Others work so hard each year to improve the tourist product we are able to offer to our visitors, but the Council seems to be asleep or even worse, unaware of it’s role…….
