Nightmare flight for passengers from Heraklion to St. Petersburg

The passengers on the Norwind flight from Heraklion Crete, to Saint Petersburg Russia, lived through their own nightmare a few days ago., when the Airbus A321-200 which they were travelling aboard, “dived” 18,000 feet before the pilot decided to return back to Heraklion Airport, 40 minutes after taking off.
One of the passengers on the flight of terror, was Professor Dmitry Gavra, from St. Petersburg, who posted on his facebook page about the “unpleasant moments” before the pilot levelled the plane out again, and succeeded in landing at Heraklion, after flying at a low level.
According to him, the children on board the Norwind Airbus, began crying and suffering from the pain caused by the sudden descent and the change in the atmospheric pressure it caused, inside the cabin.
“The pilot made no announcement. The crew didn’t try to reassure us. When we realised that we were returning to Crete, nobody informed us officially. Even after we landed and saw the fire engines and police cars on the runway, the crew said nothing about what had happened”, the Professor added.
Professor Gavra:
Other passengers argued that the engines of the aircraft were “stowed” by the “dive”, but as it was later revealed, this happened because the pilot was forced into an emergency descent, when a problem with pressure in the passenger compartment was detected.
Another man, according to the Daily Mail newspaper, wrote: “My friends, we nearly crashed. To be more precise, we just dived about 3 kilometers.”
Some passengers complained that despite the change in cabin pressure, the oxygen masks did not fall.
A representative of the Pulkovo Airport in Russia, announced that: “We have been informed that a Norwind flight from Heraklion has been cancelled and that another aircraft will collect the passengers.”
Until now, no official statement has been issued by the Airline regarding the incident.
