Crete is in shock, after the death of another person in a road traffic accident, the fourth in twenty four hours.
According to cretapost, the most recent fatal accident, occurred at 18:20 in Rethymnon.
The 45 year old man was driving his motorbike in the village of Valsamonero, when for reasons which are still not clear, he lost control of the vehicle and hit the edge of the road.
Drivers who witnessed the incident called an ambulance immediately, as traffic came to a standstill, but by all accounts, the rescue team on board that arrived at the scene, was unable to do anything to help, as the man was already dead.
This new, tragic accident, came just hours after the funerals of the other three young people, who were killed in two other accidents on the roads of Chania, yesterday.
