Man falls from 60 metres to his death

The news of a man who had fallen from the very high, “Gallos” bridge in Rethymnon today, caused shock and horror in the community.
The reasons for how or why the unlucky man fell, are not yet known, but with the drop of 60 metres, his death as he hit the rocks below, would have been instant. He is believed to be a young man.
An emergency rescue team of eight officers had to go down to recover his body as it ended in a very difficult to reach position below the bridge and an ambulance crew waited, to take body to hospital for autopsy.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
