Hospital visit for cruise ship passenger

The majority of the passengers who were on the first cruise ship to dock in Agios Nikolaos this season, were elderly and for one lady in particular, it was a more eventful stroll around the town. The woman had the bad luck, to twist her ankle on the cobbled road by Kitroplatia.

The deputy Mayor, Spyros Massaros visited her at the hospital and was pleased to hear from the doctors, that the damage was not serious, but superficial and not of any concern. The lady herself was also very philosophical about her adventure.

The accident highlighted the need for maintenance work to be done on the specific section of road and on many other pavements and roads, in the town.

We were very pleased to see a team of staff from the Council, out and about around the centre of the town on Monday morning, making good in various places, to damage, wherever it was found.
