In a report published recently, it appears that the Greek government is considering permitting a limited use of cannabis for medicinal purposes.

“The pharmacological properties and the subsequent therapeutic indications of cannabis, are under investigation and after procedures of approval, are found to be acceptable”, said the report.

The Health Ministry was in favour of adopting measures which would permit patients with specific conditions and diseases, to use cannabis-based drugs, which have been proven to be clinically beneficial.

The author of the report, Katerina Antoniou, Professor of Pharmacology, also made proposals for a framework, to regulate the matter.
