An unbelievable story is being spread via social media in the last few hours, where a girl talks about being shot in Agios Nikolaos!
The fake news story has been created using an application that is going around on facebook at the moment, which makes it possible to create a “news item” and make it look real.
The police are deeply concerned and recommend that people do not believe everything that “is served up” from unreliable sources.
This case is not unique, with tens of other similar stories flooding the internet in the last few days.
Below, you can see the photograph posted with the story, which has upset locals as it is also damaging to the name of the town.
The translation of the post reads:
“This wonderful and beautiful girl, with amazing dreamy eyes, was found unconscious today 11th May, at at 02:56 at night, by the lake of Agios Nikolaos, after being shot by an unknown man.
The unlucky 17 year old (……..) was found bleeding, passed out and in a state of shock after what had happened to her and luckily an elderly man who was passing, found her and let us know immediately. (The old man said that he has been shocked by the incident as it is the first time in his life that he has witnessed something like this).
The young girl was taken to the emergency department of Agios Nikolaos General Hospital where she is being treated by doctors, who are doing everything that she needs at this time!
The police and the local council have already started investigations into the incident and in the hope and with the goal of finding and imprisoning the guilty gun shooter.
