Animal cruelty continues

Another incident of extreme cruelty towards a dog has been reported to the Police in the area of Hersonissos. The dog was being kept by it’s owner in a shop, which was closed. The animal had no food or water and was believed to be eating it’s own waste to survive.
A member of an animal group based in Heraklion happened to pass by the shop and discovered the dog. She broke a window to enable access to give the dog food and water.
With the news of this incident and a posting on zoosos.gr several Animal Protection groups in the area have pressed charges against the owner with the local police department.
