Hit and run driver found

A 27 year old sailor gave himself up to the Police yesterday, claiming to be the driver involved in the hit and run accident which killed 47 year old widower and father of four children, Stelios Stavroulakis from Moires.

From the scene of the accident, Police had collected pieces of the bumper of the car thought to have been involved. It was quickly confirmed that the piece belonged to a Mercedes Smart car and investigations were at an advanced stage in the area of Moires.

In the meantime, the 27 year old driver came forward voluntarily claiming responsibility for the accident and is now being held for questioning.
