The second incident in 24 hours with young children suffering serious burns has been reported in Heraklion.
A nine year old boy was hospitalized yesterday due to burns suffered whilst using a lighter, close to a drum of petrol and today, an 11 year old boy.
An ambulance was called just after 11am this morning, to an address in Deilina, Heraklion, where the boy had suffered the injury. He was found to have burns to his chest and back and according to the first reports, he is not said to be in a serious condition.
From witness statements it appears that the child got too close to a candle, and his t-shirt caught fire, although this has not been officially confirmed.
