Thieves steal one tonne of watermelons

For the second year running, a farmer in Tympaki was the victim of the theft of the crop of water melons which he was growing in his greenhouse and getting ready, very soon to sell at market.

It seems though, that he wasn’t the only one keeping an eye on the progress of the particular crop……the farmer, sadly never got to taste the fruits of his labour, as unknown burglars cut and stole over a tonne of watermelons!!

For the farmer, following on from last year’s theft, this now results in his financial disaster and obviously, he has filed a complaint with the police.
