Huge flag flies proudly in Heraklion

On major celebrations, on important anniversaries, like today, the Greek flag is an important symbol of the people of Greece. In this case, this huge Greek flag, has become an institution in Heraklion.

The Kalathaki family who have an educational business in Heraklion, took the initiative to make and fly the flag, early in the morning on such occasions, in the harbour to remind us all that it is not just a piece of material, but it is associated with battles and the blood of the people in it’s long, long history.
