You may have seen an article on the greek section of fonien.gr a couple of days ago, showing athletes “skiing” up the road towards Kritsa and wondered who they were?
Well a reader, actually sent us a message, to let us know that they are in fact the Swiss National Biathlon team, who are in training here for their summer camp! Thanks for that information J.P.!
So when there is no snow on the mountains of Switzerland, where do the athletes choose to carry on their training? Nowhere else but on the equally beautiful mountain roads of Agios Nikolaos, in Crete.
We just hope that they take care on our roads, because our drivers have probably not got quite the same mentality when behind the steering wheel, as the Swiss drivers may have…..
