The sight alone, of the Police tow truck driving around the centre of Agios Nikolaos today, was enough to put many drivers, into a state of panic….
The aim of this sudden and unexpected appearance on behalf of the local Division of the Traffic Police, was designed to encourage the public to follow the highway code and the laws on the streets of the town centre, and not to actually start towing away offending vehicles….at this stage!
The subject of orderly traffic control in the Agios Nikolaos, will be the main item on the agenda for discussion next week, in a meeting that has been scheduled by the authorities.
However, the presence of the tow truck today on our streets, has put an abrupt end to the rumours that have been circulating, and which said that the vehicle was out of service and as such, would be no threat to drivers.
