Naval strike extended – free flights for students

As the Naval Union decides on another extension of their strike and with the ferry boats tied in port now until Thursday 8th December at the earliest, free flights have been arranged for students “trapped” in Crete, as a result of the ongoing strike action.
In a move by the Merchant Maritime Ministry and in co-operation with the airlines, Aegean, Astra and Sky Express, seats on flights leaving Crete and starting today 6th December, will be made available and free of charge to students who need to travel on to other parts of Greece.
Anyone interested in using one of these seats, should contact the Central Harbour Master, Mr. Saitakis, in Heraklion, for full details on the availability and criteria for obtaining a ticket.
