Explosion at Moria Refugee Camp

A large explosion last night brought chaos to the already volatile situation at the refugee holding camp in Moria on the Island of Lesvo.
According to reports, one woman and two children were killed as a result of an explosion thought to have been caused by a gas camping stove being used to cook in their tent.
Another eight people were injured, as a result of the explosion which caused a fire that was quickly extinguished. Two more seriously injured, believed to be a young mother and her 4 year old child have been flown to hospital in Athens for more specialist treatment.

The refugees have been evacuated from the camp taking their few possessions with them, after the damage that was caused to surrounding tents and the serious episodes that broke out amongst certain groups. More updates will follow.
