On Sunday, April 9th, the Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos is organizing a circular hike, to the top of the ‘Lazaros’ peak on the mountain range of Dikti.
We will start at the Plateau of Katharos, at 1120 metres and taking an upward path, will head towards the mountain passage in the area Lakos. We will continue to climb upwards on the right hand slope of the mountain, passing through an oak forest, until the well at “Tripa”, where we will take a short break, to rest.
We will carry on our upward path crossing the bed of the stream and following a rocky pathway, we will climb to the area known as “Livadi” at an altitude of 1550 metres, where there is a small plateau. We will then start heading back downwards again, along pathways, to our starting point.
DEPART: Agios Nikolaos, AB Vassilopoulos Supermarket Car Park 08:30 Sunday morning.
TRANSFER: With our own cars. For those who do not drive, or have their own cars, they must give 5 euros to the driver who will give them transport.
DURATION: 2 hours 30 minutes climb upwards, plus two hours decent, without any necessary stops.
