Beaches get fresh sand

The freshening up of all the local beaches in the Agios Nikolaos area began today, with the first stop, Ammos beach and a new layer of additional sand.

There are still legal issues outstanding with regard to their operation by private tenants, but this does not mean that they will be left to their own devices.

The deputy for the Council, responsible for the beaches, Mr. Michalis Farsaris, said that sand will be replaced or added to and sunbeds will be put out, albeit with free usage, until the conditions of contracts are clarified and signed.
