Theft of 6,000 euro from pensioner


The theft of 6,000 euros from the home of an elderly woman in a rural part of the Heraklion Prefecture, has been solved by police. The police department from St. Myronas has released details of the two people allegedly responsible for the crime; a 37 year old woman and a 41 year old man, who helped her to flee afterwards.

Charges of theft have been made against the couple who committed the offense on the afternoon of January 7th, 2017.

Investigations led to the woman’s arrest and in a search of the place where she lived, the police were able to recover a part of the amount stolen. In cooperation with the police in Achaia, the connection between the two assailants was revealed and this led to his arrest as a likely partner in the crime.

Investigations are continuing by the police in St. Myronas.
