Sklavenitis Supermarkets announce pay rises for ex-Marinopoulos employees

Two months after the final stage (1st March), of the takeover of the Marinopoulos chain of supermarkets, by the Greek Hypermarkets Sklavenitis, the new owners have made the move to bring wages and salaries of employees who have come from the Marinopoulos Group, in line with the existing staff of the Sklavenitis Company.
The new rates of pay will apply from 1st of May and staff, especially those on the very low minimum wage scales, such as part-time staff, will now see increases in their pay packets of up to 47%.
For example, a member of staff on full-time employment who was being paid the gross amount of 586 euros in April, from May, will receive 860 euros.
Another example is for part-time employees, who made up 60% of the former Marinopoulos staff, who were earning a gross amount of 293 euros before, from May, will receive 430 euros.
The hourly rate of pay (based on the gross sum of 860), will go up from 3,52 in April, to 5,16 euro in May.
The daily rate of pay for those working full time who are under 33 years of age will be increased with a company supplement so as to reach 33 euros.
