Panic on train in Thessaloniki

A state of panic was created on Friday evening, 23rd December, when a 24 year old Algerian reported to the authorities that there was a jihadi terrorist wearing a vest of explosives in the toilet of a train, who also had a holdall full of bombs.

The incident happened at 11.30pm during the journey between Alexandroupolis and Thessaloniki and on arrival, the Algerian reported the claim to the station staff.

The explosive disposal team was brought in immediately but quickly discovered that there was no such person on the train and no explosive devices.

According to sources the 24 yer old is known for involvment in drug trafficking and was arrested at the scene for spreading false news and causing public unrest.
