A tourist couple who were on holiday in Crete, took their last swim in the sea today.
According to a report by cretapost, a man and woman who were staying in a hotel in the Stalis area, took their morning swim together every day at 06:30. As usual today they went to Stalis beach and dived into the sea.
Two hours later, other bathers on the beach saw two bodies floating on the water and called the emergency services.
Officers from the Coast Guard arrived initially and removed the bodies from the sea, whilst informing the ambulance service (EKAB).
Unfortunately for both tourists it was already too late and the ambulance could only transfer their bodies for autopsy, at the Venizeleio Hospital in Heraklion.
