Russian Consul to Greece found dead


55 year old Andrei Malanin, Russian Consul to Greece, was found dead yesterday in Athens.

Reports state that the Consul did not go to his office in the morning and his staff began looking for him. Later, a colleague went to his apartment, where he found Mr. Malanin dead. There apparently was no sign of criminal activity, but the authorities are investigating all possibilities.

The body was found at the apartment where the Consul resided, at 17.45 on the 3rd floor of the 5 storey building at 7, Herodou Attikis. A team from the police department, Investigation of Crimes Against Lives (Homicide), was called to the address and a full examination will be conducted by the Forensic Surgeon.
