Myrtos and Anatoli officially declared fire hit areas

With the original proposal of the Deputy for the Region of Crete, for Lasithi, Mrs. Pelagia Petraki, the two villages and their surrounds, Myrtos and Anatoli, have finally been officially declared as fire hit areas, as a result of natural disaster, after the devastating forest fires of 2016.

With this new classification, it will now be possible to absorb funding to regenerate businesses, especially those with greenhouses and other agricultural activities that were totally wiped out in the sweeping path of the flames, that left very little behind it, last year.

Those affected by the fires in the area, will now be able to submit applications to the official Committee which will be set up for the purpose and each application, will be assessed to determine the amount of the financial subsidy the applicant will be entitled to.
