Three turtles are enjoying their holidays in the lake in Agios Nikolaos and K.G. was able to catch two of them in a shot with his camera this morning, as they swam together close to the surface of the water.
“All three of them are very lively today and there may be more”, commented Kostas himself. The biggest one has already been christened Nikolaos, by the professionals who work around the lake. The picture of these visitors, is surely more impressive from higher viewpoints – but only with care, please!
The presence of the turtles along with the stunning backdrop of the lake, will hopefully create an added attraction, that may help the shops and restaurants in the area, combining a visit to see them, but also enjoy the good food, coffee and service available.
It is also very important to point out that we should not, under any circumstances, feed these beautiful sea creatures, nor throw anything at them. We must let them find their own way around and to leave.
