Director of Region for Crete, visits new KTEL Heraklion-Lasithi bus station site

After an invitation by the management of KTEL Heraklion-Lasithi, Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis, the Director of the Region for Crete, saw for himself today, the progress of the renovation and rebuilding works, taking place at the “Athina” site in Heraklion, which will soon be the new base, for all the longer distance bus routes on Crete.

The old factory building and the 9,000 sq. metres overall site, are being restored, to create a new modern passenger station, which will facilitate more pleasant, faster, more effective, passenger service of both local users and foreign visitors.

The Director wished them every success in their progress and proposed that the site and it’s restored buildings should be used to exhibit the history, the culture, tourism, cretan products and in general, all of the merits that the Island has to offer.
