Contracted staff, in the cleansing department of the Agios Nikolaos Council, have started strike action, as of today, Friday 24th March.
The workers, who are unpaid for four months, fear that this situation could go on, and so decided on the strike action, as a means of putting pressure on the Council Committee.
“If we don’t work, the consequences for the cleanliness of the Municipality will be many and serious”, they commented, but with their own concerns, quite rightly, highest on the agenda.
